The project started from the idea of re-designing mirrors inspired to those hand mirrors from the early '900 with small handles, but the first sketches immediately revealed similar forms to manual excavating shovels. That's how the Joseph's mirrors collection was born, almost a tribute to the artist Joseph Beuys: his actions of digging furrows into the earth to sow seeds are well known... The shovel, as a symbol of the intimate relationship between man and nature, becomes in this project a mirror in which to reflect ourselves and a opportunity to be reflected in the "nature". The collection includes three different forms and is made of metal with a matte black finish, bronze and brass.
